Well, actually… yes! Most people when asked about this skill say it’s about women or men being better at multi-tasking. But in this century I dare say it’s too simple to just depend on gender when it comes to multi-tasking or not. Computers have given us an extra little something. Look at your task bar right now. How many windows (or tabs if you are a Mac fan) do you have open? In my case, I have MSN messenger, TweetDeck, iTunes (can’t miss the good old Jazz background to my work), Word, My documents and Google Chrome; which I won’t even say the tabs I have opened up on that one… (ok, 5!).
Now based on what I just told you I have on my task bar you can predict what type of computer user I am. I am social, with a knack for instant news and know-now’s on Twitter; a (chilled out) music lover; a working/professional person and a Blogger, that one was just mere coincidence… right.
It all made me think, people use computers for a million different purposes. So I searched for the main computer user profiles. And voila! It didn’t take me more than 30 seconds to find them. Intel segmented Mexico’s four main computer users: Entertainment, Family, Productivity and Gamers. They don’t seem at all bizarre. It makes it easy then to imagine what windows THEY have open in their task bars. See? Multi-tasking isn’t about whether you are a guy or a girl; it’s so much more than that.
