Have you ever wondered how many tweets a day you send out into the universe? What about other pages or apps you’ve linked to your Twitter account or other networks?
Yesterday a friend of mine shared a picture with an interesting phrase on it on G+: “In case of fire, exit the building BEFORE tweeting about it”. After a short laugh, I really started thinking about it. How many tweets and shares do I really do every day?
With so many gadgets to tweet and share from this quantity must be outrageous. There’s the Twettle, for morning people who prepare their tea or coffee, this electronic Kettle tweets their activity for them as described on Wired.com. For runners or work outs, there is an infinite number of apps that track overall performance and share it with the world like iTunes’ Motion Traxx Radio.
What about news or stories you want your friends to see? Pretty much everything on the web has a share button for whatever network you like. If you see something on the street, office, or anywhere for that matter, take a picture of it and send it out into the web.
Yesterday I kept a record of how many shares I did. My magic number? Circa 44, give or take the little ones I may have missed. What is your magic number? Just remember to exit the burning building before tweeting about it!
