Today I woke up to what seemed another ordinary day, final projects to hand in, general chores at the end of the semester. But then I remembered what day it is today and it quickly brought a smile to my face. It’s Thanksgiving! All my life I had spent it with my family, largely encouraged by my grandfather and me seconding the motion. Sweet potatoes, corn, turkey, green beans, cranberry sauce. It all seemed to be missing this day. We now live in different cities, so there was no familiarity near me.
But fear not for my friends have come to the rescue! It’s been a week now that we’ve organized date and time for today’s dinner and so we shall have it in time! I’ll remember to include most of the ingredients, but above all the cheer about it all.
But of course, the marketing point of view cannot miss. We started lurking around for the right products. But being that we are in Mexico, there wasn’t a lot of advertising or buzz about this particular holiday. Instead, we found ourselves to be involved in a more Christmas-like environment. We pulled here and there and now we’re preparing for our customized Thanksgiving dinner.
All I can say now is we hope that nothing will be burnt in the making and have an excellent moment together. So, I want to thank the man that brought this tradition into my life, I know you are reading this 🙂 Cheers!
