How many users or profiles do you have in the different social networks that are around surfing the net? Have you lost count? Now add to that your e-mail accounts and your mailing subscriptions from different on-line newspapers and magazines. You can get a little confused in the process. And to think I just wrote about Multi-tasking!
Well, fortunately for all of us (and for their webmasters as well) several networks, email platforms and so on have decided to join forces or at least build bridges between them. Thus, turning your personal virtual world into a seamless mecca. You’ve probably seem them already almost everywhere you visit.
YouTube has sharing icons from all the different networks, and so do press articles, blogs, company webpages etc. The latest union there is, barely released, is that between Facebook and My Space. This one is called Mash Up (quite an appropriate term under the circumstances). It allows My Space users to import their activities from Facebook so that both profiles can be aligned. Things such as your “I like’s” from FB or status, pages, friends, etc can be shared on both networks. That way you don’t lose track of what you are doing on both sites.
In fact, now that I remember, this year’s Cisco Challenge winners proposed a platform in which you can join absolutely all of your online activities.
