Out of the back and most strategic line of managers in a company you can find the CEO, CFO, COO & CMO among other examples. But who is the CCO? What does that person do?
A little background before hand. Each Chief Officer is in charge of a particular subject or area in the company. They all report to the general Chief Officer (CEO). Out of all of these, CMO is one of the posts that most revolution has had lately. The Chief Marketing Officer will have to change to CCO (Chief Customer Officer).
Why? Because just as the very description of this blog, Marketing has changed its meaning and is constantly doing so as you read this. So, general marketing isn’t enough anymore. Customers come first, and understanding them is the key to any business on the planet. That is why lately so many authors across recognized Journal Publishings, Magazine articles, etc have come to say that the Chief Marketing Officer has evolved to CCO.
What this person needs to do is fully understand customers so that eventually s/he will practically know the customer’s next move. Just like the rabbit tale, aim just a little bit forward 🙂
