While in school, and much later at work, I kept hearing about “mentors”, “mentoring”, and how having a mentor is important for people’s careers and advancement. It sounded like another buzzword. I couldn’t really figure out exactly how having a mentor would help, let alone how to “get” a mentor. If you’d ask me back in the day “do you have a mentor?” I would have said no, because I really didn’t even know what a mentor really was, where to “get one”, or why. It turns out, I wasn’t the only one.
This was the basis for me to start writing about mentoring, and ultimately writing a book about it. “Mentorship: How To Get a Mentor, Become a Mentor, and Drive an Effective Mentoring Relationship” is a practical guide on how to get a mentor, become a mentor, and drive an effective mentoring relationship that brings results and growth to your life. This guide is useful whether you have no concrete idea of what a mentoring relationship can do for you and others, or if you are well versed in the topic.
